Use cricut snapmat to cut photos. But to use cricut mats with silhouette you ll need to do make some slight modifications. Start by gathering your supplies. Start with 1 coat.

Once the edges of the mat are taped use a spray adhesive or glue stick. This means if you put a piece of material within the sticky gridded area on a cricut mat and cut it with the silhouette you may end up cutting off your material. While both the silhouette mats and cricut mats both include a 12 x 12 grid of 1 squares the mats themselves are not exactly the same size. Restick your cutting mat.

Before you restick your cricut or silhouette cutting mat it s important to tape around all the edges. Since the cricut mats might not all be the same you can use your silhouette mat as a reference like i did to find the correct placement you could even draw lines with a sharpie so you don t forget. This is to prevent any adhesive that is added from getting onto the edges which may interfere with your machine s rollers.
